February - October 2007
As the New Year continues to move
on, the Society is jam-packed with a year of events. And with the beginning of the New Year comes
the Karneval Season. You could always
find many of the Society members at these various events throughout the month
of February, enjoying themselves and the entertainment provided. We have many Society members who are also
members of the Muller Fasching Verein.
Those members were definitely keeping themselves busy performing at
these Karneval events. The Society would
like to congratulate all the clubs who participated in the Karneval Season, for
it was once again a huge success! We
look forward to next year’s season in 2008.
The Society’s Young Adult Dancers
have been busy performing at events, including a performance in Oconomowoc with
the Waukesha Symphony Orchestra League on April 14th and at
Bockbierfest on April 28th.
And the Young Adult Dancers had a very special performance at the
Hosster/Rivera Wedding, where they were asked to perform at the reception. Jason and Lisette also danced, participating
in the Strauss Waltz. The Hosster/Rivera wedding took place on Saturday, May 5th, where Society members Jason
Hosster and Lisette Rivera joined together in holy matrimony. Following the beautiful, tear-filled
ceremony, was the reception at Alioto’s in Wauwatosa. The Young Adult Dancers would like to thank
Jason and Lisette for having them a part of their special day. Congratulations Jason and Lisette! May your love be like the wind, strong enough
to move the clouds, soft enough to never hurt, but always and never ending.
And the month of May continued to
be a month full of blessings. We can
officially welcome a new member into the Society family, Aiden Josef
Bruckbacher. Aiden was welcomed into the
world on May 23rd, at 1:18pm by parents Kari and Steve. Aiden was born a healthy baby at 6lbs 14ozs
and 21 inches long. The Society would
like to congratulate Kari and Steve and can’t wait for Aiden to start dancing!
Congratulations to all the graduates from the
Society, graduating this spring. Good
Luck to members Sigrid Degner, graduating from Germantown High School, and our
Vice President, Kevin Weil, graduating from the University of
Wisconsin-Milwaukee. May they continue
to be successful in all future endeavors!
Best of Luck!
Summer continued with the Society’s
Founding Father’s Day Picnic, celebrating five years of existence. The Society
is very proud of the club, the members, and the accomplishments we have made
together throughout these past five years.
And this picnic was a great way to show the appreciation of the hard
work and dedication. The picnic was held
on Saturday, June 9th at Willowwood Park in Menomonee Falls. Families and members of the Society enjoyed
an afternoon filled with fun in the sun, recreation, and good food.
July continued to be a busy month
for the Kinder and Jugendgruppe. A Brat
Fry/Car Wash fundraiser was held at the Piggly Wiggly in Mequon. We appreciate all the generous donations and
all the members who came out to volunteer to make July 14th a
successful day for the youth. And July
ended with the much anticipated event- German Fest. The Society was busy the entire weekend. You could find many of the Society members
volunteering in the kitchen and cultural booth.
And the Kinder and Jugendgruppe members were busy performing. Many hours were dedicated this weekend to the
Society and to the German-American community of Milwaukee as a whole. The Society is ALWAYS thankful for their
members and for their devoted contribution.
Thank You for your support!
The summer officially ended with the Society taking a trip to the annual Tag Der Donauschwaben event during Labor Day weekend. This year, the event was held in Mansfield,
Ohio. The Jugendgruppe was asked to
perform on Sunday and would like to thank Mansfield for that wonderful
opportunity. We look forward in
attending next year’s event held in Cleveland, Ohio. Please stay connected to the Society for
information regarding this future trip.

The Society’s Kirchweih was held on
October 6th at the Sacred Heart Croatian Hall. Performances that night could be seen both our
Kinder and Jugendgruppe and our special guests, D’Oberlandlers. The Society would like to congratulate our
Strauss winners, Tyler Brown and Ashley Pless from the Kindergruppe and Stefan Brunn and
Sigrid Degner from the Jugendgruppe.
Thank you to all the volunteers who made this night possible. Many hours of preperation is taken to make
this event happen, along with all the hours spent that evening. The Society appreciates all the hours donated
to this event. We look forward to next
year’s Kirchweih, on October 5th, 2008. Please continue to check the website for
further updates on this much anticipated Society event.
And congratulations to our new Miss
German American Societies Princess- Lauren Jahn. Lauren Jahn is an active member of not only
the Society, but of the Pommersche Tanzdeel Freistadt, the Apatiner Verein, and
in the German-American community of Milwaukee as a whole. She competed and represented the Society in
the Miss GAS contest on October 7th.
The Society is excited to have Lauren represent the German-American
community. We wish her the best of luck
during her reign for 2007-2008.
