Jugendgruppe

The Danube Cultural Society Jugendgruppe is for young adults primarily between the ages of 13 to 26 who wish to take part in their heritage through ethnic dancing and singing.  The Jugendgruppe is a great chance to both have fun and continue the traditions of the Danube with the youth of today.  The Jugendgruppe performs various types of dances from along parts of the Danube River in Europe.  Such dances include Danube-Swabian polkas,  Austrian ländlers and schuhplattling, Viennese waltzes and tangos, and various comical skits and shows. The Jugendgruppe performs annually at many events throughout southeastern Wisconsin and the midwestern United States.

If you or someone you know is interested in their German culture and is also looking to have good time and meet new people the DCS Jugendgruppe might just be the place.

The DCS Jugendgruppe is under the leadership of the two Vice Presidents of Dance, Emily Neuenschwander and Julie Wagner, both of whom have years of German Folk Dance experience.  For inquiries regarding the availability of the group for a performance, please contact Emily Neuenschwander.

Kindergruppe

The Danube Cultural Society Kindergruppe has been established for children between the ages of 5 to 12 who wish to take part in their heritage through ethnic German dancing and singing.  The Kindergruppe performs various types of traditional and choreographed dances from along the Danube River region in Europe.

The members of the Society believe that our Kindergruppe is a very important key to the preservation of the customs and traditions of our homeland.  Our Kindergruppe not only brings future youth to our Jugendgruppe, but also strengthens the future of our society.

If you are interested in having your children experience German culture, meet other children with the same interests, and make new friends, the DCS Kindergruppe is the place for you and your family.  We currently practice at the German Fest office on Thursdays at 6:30 P.M.- 8:00 P.M.  We perform at various German-American events in the Milwaukee area such as German Fest, as well as community events, and charity events throughout the Midwestern United States.

If  you are interested in having your children join the Kindergruppe at least one parent/guardian is required to become a member of the Danube Cultural Society. If you  would like more information or have questions, please contact:
